NUMBER OF SPACES OPEN
05/17/2022 COVID Update: Ethiopia is a fairly easy country to work with as far as covid entry requirements. You have four options for entry:
- A negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hrs before departure
- A rapid antigen test taken no more than 24 hrs before departure
- Proof of vaccination
- Proof of recovery within the last 90 days
As long as you meet one of these requirements no quarantine period is required.
Safety Situation: There has been unrest in the northern Tigray region of Ethiopia since 2020 (actually, the conflict dates back for centuries, but this recent flare up has been ongoing for about 2 years). The team will be working in southern Ethiopia, nowhere near the conflict. None of the problems have affected the southern part of the country and we don’t expect that to change, but we will continue monitoring the situation.
Medical problems, special needs, and even strange superstitions have created a whole group of unwanted children in southern Ethiopia. Without help, these children are often left to die. The Ayeles family started by taking in a few of these children and that has grown to caring for three houses of kids who are very much loved and wanted now!
You can go and be a part of this ministry, help the Ayeles, love on the kids, and give them an awesome week of camp! And what could be better than doing with this your friends from Unbound? Expect to be challenged as stretched as you pour out love in a part of the world that needs to experience the love of Christ in action, but do it with friends by your side!
