Arrived in Deva!

[Late 06.15.13] After a long travel day, the Romania team has safely arrived in Deva. We are getting settled into our apartment (very nice!) and grateful to our hosts, Marius and Veronica, for doing so much to get ready for us. We’re also really glad to NOT be flying or driving anymore. Now for some sleep!…

[06.16.13] We got to see a bunch of friends at church this morning, then spent a fantastic afternoon of fellowship with a bunch of the Romanians we will be working with over the next couple of weeks. We also threw in a silly string rendition of happy birthday to Bethany and a bunch of training and prep for the kids programs that start tomorrow. Good day!

This week the team will be working with kids and teens in Deva in church and school settings. Communication is one of the biggest challenges as the team is teaching the curriculum for the first time, learning to work with translators, and building relationships.
